Stourbridge College
Situated on the edge of the Black Country, Stourbridge College has five campuses located in Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Kingswinford and Halesowen. It educates more than 10,000 students, 1,400 of whom follow full-time courses in one of the college's many areas of specialism.
Some £35 million is being invested in a new campus in Brierley Hill which will be a centre of excellence for A Levels and Arts.
Formed in 1974 by the amalgamation of Foley College and Stourbridge College of Art, the college is a dynamic and diverse Further Education institute, providing a wide range of high quality learning opportunities for both local community and employers. Success rates have increased steadily over the past four years and it is in the top 25 per cent of colleges nationally.
In 2003 the college achieved full status as a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE), which is part of a government initiative to develop high quality education and training in specialist areas. The college is building on this to become the leading provider in Built Environment and Construction training.
