Colleges Are Well Connected
As major providers of education and training, the Colleges in the Black Country work together and with a number of other agencies and organisations to deliver the best for the region.
Our long established centres of learning are connected to the communities we serve. We have developed networks and partnerships to enhance our ability to provide the courses, qualifications and skills required for individuals and the local economy to prosper.
Collaborative partnerships with organisations such as the Black Country Partnership for Learning, Aim Higher Black Country and the Birmingham, Black Country and Solihull Lifelong Learning Network help us to have a greater understanding of issues affecting the region and how we can positively respond.
We also work closely with the four local authorities in the Black Country - Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton Councils and we have a special relationship with the University of Wolverhampton.
In addition, we have developed strong links with industry and commerce to fully understand their training needs.
For example Train to Gain, the Government service to help businesses address the skills shortages of their workforces by getting the quality training they need, has links to the colleges.
Colleges have also established relationships with leading blue chip companies who support specialised Academies to give students the opportunity to work with expert staff in their chosen fields and have access to the latest facilities.
